What are the ingredients to make this seafood salad sandwich?

For this quick and simple lunch idea, you are going to need the following ingredients:

  • seafood (cooked) – you can use your favorite seafood. We enjoy crab meat and shrimp for this recipe. Make sure that the seafood is cook and ready to eat.
  • mayonnaise or salad dressing – for the sauce that holds it all together
  • salt and Greek seasoning – to season your seafood. Salt will give you a little more flavor too! 😀
  • pepper and celery stalk – add just a touch of pepper to spice up your sandwich. Celery is also great in here as well because it’s crunchy but not filling. It adds some color, so I like adding one stalk per sandwich.
  • small onion – an important ingredient to get things cooking properly 😉
  • favorite buns – we used hot dog buns, but you can use anything that you like.

How do you make Seafood Salad Sandwiches?

Mix all of your ingredients. Add a little mayonnaise or salad dressing if needed for moisture, but this dish shouldn’t need it too much. Then, place them inside your favorite buns and enjoy!

For best results, always cook the onions first before mixing with any other ingredients. The heat from the onion helps bring out the best flavors and helps make your seafood salad sandwich taste better. Of course, this is optional.

Can I replace the seafood salad with something else?

You can replace seafood with tuna as an alternative to seafood salad.

Tuna Salad: Substitute 1 can (9 ounces) tuna, drained, for the seafood. Stir in 1 teaspoon lemon juice.

Chicken salad is another alternative to use instead of seafood. Just use 1 1/2 cups of chopped cooked chicken for the seafood.

  • 1 medium celery stalk, chopped (about a 1/2 cup)
  • 1 small onion, chopped (about a 1/4 cup)

Instructions

    • Mix all ingredients except buns.
    • Fill buns with seafood mixture.
